Shining in the light

Die beiden "Freunde" werden ab 14. Januar 2023 auf der Ausstellung Glänzend ans Licht in der Mainzer Kunstgalerie zu sehen sein.
Friends, polymer plaster and lacquer, about 25 cm high

At the exhibition Shining in the light at the Mainz art gallery the "Friends" will also be on display.

It is once again a great pleasure for me to choose and put together the sculptures for the exhibition. Every time I try out new combinations and every time I'm thrilled anew. The sculptures are shown off so beautifully in the gallery spaces.

I will show many abstract bronze and brass sculptures Bronze is such a noble material and I love the many possibilities it offers. Every cast is different and every cast is an adventure for me.

New additions to the art exhibition in Mainz are colored lacquered works made of polymer gypsum. The luminosity of the colors is fascinating. With this material there will be much more to discover!

Will we meet at the vernissage?

Excerpt from the invitation to the exhibition by Christian Vahl:
In her search for the poetic and essential, Wiebke Bader finds inspiration in nature. The organic forms and flowing lines of her mostly abstract sculptures complement each other to create an exciting harmony. The artist's joie de vivre is reflected in her work: shiny surfaces, opulent forms, playful and yet calm.
Her works are characterized by a sensuous materiality, fresh form dynamics and surprising size variability. Her works are said to have a speaking magic, a concentration, condensation and materialization of the deepest human moods, longings, hopes and feelings: life cast in form, which was abstracted from her and wants to be seen and experienced from all sides - similar to the figura serpentinata. With her poetic formal language, she has developed an artistic position that does not deny her femininity.”

Schorndorf Art Night

Schorndorfer Kunstnacht 2022
Schorndorfer Kunstnacht am 17. Sept. 2022 von 18 – 1 Uhr

Only two weeks until the Schorndorf Art Night! In this one night, Schorndorf artists, but also guest artists, show a huge range of art. Cultural life pulsates from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the night.
And I'm part of it. A bright, large room on the Röhm site offers plenty of space for my abstract sculptures. I'm really looking forward to an evening full of good humor, encounters, conversations and culture.

For more than ten years, studios have been spruced up for the Schorndorf Art Night, new exhibition spaces have been discovered, and all the city's galleries and museums have opened their doors. There are paintings to see, objects, graphics, photographs and installations. There are also numerous campaigns, literature, films, performances and live music as well as culinary surprises.

The variety of offers at the Schorndorf Art Nigth is huge. The art night flyer provides an overview of all events and the timetable for the Kunstnacht shuttle. With this bus service, all venues can be reached easily and conveniently.

Affordable Art Fair Brussels

The artist and two of her sculptures at Affordable Art Fair Brussels

Affordable Art Fair Brussels March 23-27 was wonderful. Brussels alone is worth a trip: the city center with its many buildings from the 18th century, the skyscrapers made of steel and glass, muslim shopping streets, beautiful parks and of course the many different people. The Tour and Taxis area where the fair takes place impresses with its buildings from the beginning of the 20th century. The city is so diverse that I would have loved to stay longer.

And then the art fair! It is always impressive to see how diverse art can be. How many ideas people have! Art has been made for thousands of years and new and unique things are still being created. A wonderland to marvel at. The Affordable Art Fair Brussels was well attended and I got to talk to many people. It was great fun to speak French again. I'd rather not know how many mistakes I made. Fortunately, the people I spoke to were good-natured and patient. It is difficult to describe the material and the creation of my sculptures in a foreign language. We laughed a lot together.

See you next year, Affordable Art Fair Brussels, I'll be back!
