About searching and finding

Einladungskarte zur Ausstellung "Vom Suchen und Finden" mit dem Bild einer pinken Skulptur von Wiebke Bader und einer farbenfrohen abstrakten Landschaft von Jessica Rühmann
On searching and finding – Wiebke Bader and Jessica Rühmann

The exhibition “On Searching and Finding” in the gallery in Aalen Town Hall features sculptures by Wiebke Bader and paintings by Jessica Rühmann..

“Even upon entering the large gallery space, one is enveloped by a positive atmosphere. A dream in two and three dimensions. One piece is truly beautifully colorful, the other entirely white and 230 cm high. This pleasant feeling pervades the entire space. Even Jessica Rühmann's 'Rainy Day' isn't actually rainy. A good place to find a little artistic comfort in these uncertain times,” writes Wolfgang Nussbaumer on ostalb.net about the exhibition “On Searching and Finding.”

The exhibition opens on October 31, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. with a welcome address by Mayor Wolfgang Steidle. The subsequent artist talk will be moderated by Natascha Euteneier. The opening will be accompanied by music performed by Tobias Bader on saxophone and Carmen Rössler on piano.

The hidden moment

For the exhibition “The Hidden Moment – Portraits of Artists”, photographer and designer Benedikt Walther accompanied artists at work.

Der verborgene Moment - Kunstschaffende im Porträt
The Hidden Moment – Portraits of Artists

He portrayed eight artists from the Ostalb region during their creative process: Wiebke Bader, Alfred Bast, Andreas Böhm, Paul Groll, Heidi Hahn, Klaus Joas, Jessica Rühmann, and Ines Tartler.

Benedikt Walther not only shows the artists, but also the creation of the works of art. Art is often created in secret, in the rooms of the artists, in creative isolation. The viewer of the works of art cannot usually experience this process. He is always confronted with the work of art that has already been completed. "The Hidden Moment" brings the creative process to light. The photographs bring details and atmosphere to the fore - documentary, subtle and aesthetic.

Together with the photographs by Bendikt Walther, the artists portrayed each show one of their works of art. The comparison between process and completion is exciting, because each work of art tells a story, not only about the artist but also about the viewer.

The vernissage is on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 6:30 pm
